Jason Ritchie, Attorney in Billings, MT

Jason grew up farming in southern Idaho and then played football at Carroll College in Helena. He was a partner at Holland & Hart LLP in Billings before joining Ritchie Manning Kautz PLLP.

Recognized as one of the preeminent labor and employment attorneys in Montana, Jason Ritchie works intimately with businesses on every aspect of the employment relationship. He regularly counsels clients in their day-to-day operations, conducts workplace investigations, and handles complex disputes in courts and administrative proceedings. Jason also has extensive litigation experience in other areas, including:

Construction Disputes

Disputes are often inevitable when architects, engineers, contractors, and owners work on a construction project. We have extensive knowledge of construction laws in Montana.

Let us handle any dispute requiring an attorney or litigation. We represent clients regarding contracts, construction liens, subcontractor issues, failure to follow building codes and permits, and more.

Personal Injury

Personal injury cases include assault,  automobile collisions, falls, workplace accidents, medical mistakes, and defective products, to name a few.

Whether you are injured or being sued, we can help—whether the cause was intentional, accidental, or due to negligence.

Bank Bad Faith and Lender Liability

Bank bad faith and lender liability laws offer protection for borrowers. Lenders must treat borrowers fairly—not use tactics to freeze a line of credit or begin foreclosure on a home or business property.

We can explain what qualifies as bad faith conduct and ensure lenders disclose all information and honor agreements.

Real Estate

Real estate laws differ by state, and we have the advantage of being local in Billings, MT. We help resolve issues for homeowners, landowners, renters, and businesses of all sizes. We work with both residential and commercial properties.

We have experience litigating land use issues, property titles, zoning permits, environmental laws, and more.

Agriculture

Agricultural law affects landowners, farmers, and entire communities. Having an attorney on your side will help navigate complex issues, including environmental regulations, pesticide use, seed issues, labor, and more.

Corporate Duties and Shareholder Derivative Suits

An attorney skilled in corporate law will help ensure a company complies with all state and local regulations while doing business.

We will represent you as a shareholder if an executive's actions put a corporation at risk. We can also take action if a shareholder derivative lawsuit is filed—to help protect you as a director or officer in the company.

Healthcare

A healthcare attorney's expertise lies in the healthcare industry and all the regulations that govern it, including the False Claims Act and the Anti-kickback Statute.

We partner with doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to navigate a wide range of issues, including regulatory compliance.
